We are still feeling the effects of Irene...about to enter day 4 with no power, spent 3 days literally stranded in Washingtonville and have now temporarily moved back into the Stecher apartment where there is power...Oh, and I've had Meena, Rohan and Kiran since Friday afternoon (sonny and Laura are in Vegas for a getaway)...needless to say I have played every card game possible and have been sleeping and rising by the sun, which makes for a very long and tiring day....fridge at my house cannot be opened for fear of the smell inducing vomit....other than that the new house escaped Irene unscathed...no trees, no water in the basement...worth every penny!!!

Miss Glenn's birthday, and essentially have missed all of what's going on in the world...going to be interesting going back to school in a week after all this discombobulation!

So Glenn and I tried to escape the hurricane by heading off long island and going upstate. And wouldn't you know it, our apartment was fine just no electricity, and Glenn's dad'd house was fine but my house upstate, the basement floods. But at least that was all that happened, we got the water out and soaked some old basement things but it wasn't the end of the world. We got back to LI and now we are staying with Glenn's dad because there is still no power at our apartment and they aren't expecting it back on until Monday.

Glenn and I are gonna go out to dinner and re-celebrate his birthday because he feels like he never had a bday.

This labor day weekend we are going to the Elton John concert at Bethel Woods with my family and we will be tailgaiting with Kasey's family!!

Hurricane!!

We are braving the storm here in CT! I don't recommend moving during a hurricane... it is a real pain in the you know what. I am still up on Perkins St. waiting out the storm. My parents and Zack's parents don't have power. Zack and I went out this morning to get coffee at Dunkin Donuts and what is usually a 10 minute drive was a 45 minute game of trying to find roads that weren't closed. Half of Terryville and Bristol is underwater. There are trees down everything along with power lines. I was on facebook this morning and I saw bukie's pictures from the storm, craziness!

How did all of you make out?!

Hurricane Irene is ruining our birthday celebrations for Glennie!!! will be stuck home this weekend with the hubby, the dog and the 3 Goswami children...pray for us :)

No lake day today either because of the storms, we did have a lovely day strolling around IKEA....we are proof that you can spend all day there, lunch included!! That place is awesome, but awfully overwhelming!

Terribly slow day at the golf course snack shack today...and some guy just told me I look like a mother...yeah not for me at the moment! Spending tomorrow on the lake with jack and nina and mason tomorrow, looking forward to doing nothing all day considering I went from no job to two jobs since Friday! Teaching reading until thanksgiving full Tim starting Sept 7th and an sat prep course Sunday nights starting Sept 11th...oh and taking 2 classes! Yikes talk about zero to 60! Ahaha
Sara- I have class that weekend but I can be around sat night...let me know how to go about getting tickets for the shadows event....hopefully hurricane Irene doesn't ruin our beach plans this weekend! Send me your address..

Hey guys,

I finally figured out how to write a post. I guess dental school is keep me down when it comes to computers. I have off today from school so I am going to the beach with some dental school girls. Tomorrow I start treating patients officially as a 4th year student. Glenn's birthday is Saturday so we are gonna go to the beach and then I think out to dinner.

September 24th is a Saturday, I have a licensure exam from like 8-4 and then Glenn and I are going up to Marist for his 5 year reunion/alumni weekend. Anyone else going? It is also my bday on the 25th so if you guys can come out to Poughkeepsie that night we can celebrate that also.

Hope you are all doing well. It was really nice to see everyone and spend so much time with you guys this past weekend.

Yay! I am so excited for this! I can't wait to read all the fun stuff that everyone posts! (i.e. Foxy lapping up motor oil, Caroline's mom sending her back "items" from her trip to Colorado, Katy's crazy roommate from Orlando, etc.) I had such a great time this past weekend and it was great seeing all of you!

I am looking forward to a fun long weekend in the sunshine state in December :)

Hey Ladies! Some of you came up with this great idea to create a blog so that we can all stay in touch much easier and on our own time! I created it so that we can all post anytime we want...the key is to post even when you don't think you have something to share...that way we keep a constant conversation going on....it will also be great to plan trips, parties and vacations this way!

speaking of which....anyone want to head to the Outer Banks, NC in summer 2012? we should start planning now! :)
